Colourful and interesting literacy in Art & Design word mat I designed this to be used alongside the NCFE Graphic Design & Art & Design qualifications, however it would also work for KS3 and KS4 in mainstream schools. Contains key words, connectives, punctuation, command words, sentence starters and homophones I have also created a numeracy mat in a similar style I have laminated these and they are available for my learners in a folder in the classroom. They could also be stuck to desks or inserted into portfolios to support with annotation and theory work.

This is part of an ongoing project I am developing. As I complete parts of it, I will upload them individually and eventually as a full bundle. The pages contain mini factfiles about each design movement, with key artists / designers and information. They are designed to be cut out (black outlines). Perfect printed as a display, used laminated as flashcards, used to encourage students to put the movements in order, or made into a mini booklet for reference I have used a Mac to create this resource so I have uploaded both a PDF and PowerPoint file, as I often find some fonts and formatting are a bit off when opened on certain computers! A series of worksheets I have produced to develop learner knowledge of the influences and contexts surrounding the creation of graphic design and art. These were designed to meet part of the assessment criteria for Unit 02 of the NCFE Level 1 Award in Graphic Design, however they would suit mainstream KS3 and KS4 as homework, cover lesson worksheets or starters. I created a huge number of Artist research factsheets during my PGCE. The information for these was all found on the internet (please note I have not reworded any, merely copied and pasted). The idea behind the factsheets was to have a bank of resources for reference, both for myself and for students. I have printed all of these out and have them in separate folders (relating to style of art/design). I have made great use of them during my time teaching in a young offenders institute, and the learners like to select their own designers for inspiration to develop their ideas. A learner friendly peer feedback slip designed for use in an Art & Design lesson (with a project focused around Robots, however the design is very neutral and suitable for a variety of subject areas!) A great tool for formative assessment and a way to encourage learners to work together and respect each other (British Values).
